I came upon this gem purely by accident over the weekend, and thought that it might be as thrilling to some of you Tove Jansson (or Moomin) fans out there, as it was for me to be able to catch this!

Enjoy! 😉

  1. I have no idea why, but never read the Moomin books, and never read them to my daughters. I only discovered her boos for adults last year, and ever since I’ve been telling people how wonderful she is, so when this was on television I was enthralled. I thought it was beautifully done, sympathetic, perceptive, gentle, and very informative, with some superb photography.

    1. I was also unfamiliar with her Moomin books, having only come across her adult ones. Until last year, when I started reading a couple of stories from Tales From Moominvalley only did I realise how beautifully and intelligently written they were. Definitely something that can be enjoyed by both young and old, I think. 🙂
The documentary was certainly well done. So glad to have managed to catch it!

  2. Hello,
I’m currently doing research for my undergraduate dissertation and would really appreciate it if you could spend a couple of minutes filling in a short questionnaire about the MOOMINS 🙂 It is completely anonymous and you can do it online at http://tolu.na/XDGedL
    Thanks for your time,
