Having recently been on the receiving end of one of the biggest snubs/insults I’ve had in a long while, John Bunyan’s words couldn’t have come to me at a better time. It serves as a good reminder as to what really matters, at the end of the day.
Although it would be great too, if one can come to the point where one can truly say that “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me”, and mean it.
Sorry to hear you’ve been hurt by careless/unkind words. Looking at your beautiful blog–your wonderful photographs and writing–I think you have so many talents and so much to be proud of. But it is hard to let cruel words just roll off your back, isn’t it? It’s so important not to let the ignorance of others ruin your day, your year, your life. Take care!

It’s been a few days since, therefore I’ve had some time to ‘cool off’. Believe me, my first reactions were NOT well at all! But as I have said, John Bunyan’s words really did help put things into perspective. Hope you find them to be just as helpful, too.

Your quote is a good one. I actually looked up John Bunyan and found out more about him and the statement hit me even harder. Sometimes, “Sticks and stones….” doesn’t fly but my father also said this to me, “Actions speak louder than words.” and you writing a blog and connecting with people can be a positive thing that can ease the pain.
